The LCHS Boys Varsity Basketball came back from a double digit deficit to defeat their crosstown rivals from Heritage High School last night by a score of 58-52. The Raiders trailed 34-23 at halftime, but they outscored the Pride 14-6 in the third quarter and 21-12 in the fourth quarter to come away with the huge conference win.
The Raiders were led by junior Joe Alexander (17 points, 7 rebounds), but also got big games from sophomore Matt Anderson (14 points), senior Cam Corbett (11 points, 5 steals) and junior Derek McCandless (8 points, 8 rebounds).
With the win, the Raiders can now finish no worse than 3rd in the Dulles District regular season standings, with a slight possibility that they could claim the #2 seed depending on other games that will take place.
The Raiders are back in action Monday night when they host Liberty in the final home game of the season. It will be Senior Night, and the team will be honoring Steven Bowers, Pierce Brenner, and Cam Corbett along with 3 of the team's managers.
