The LCHS Boys Varsity Basketball team's season came to an end last night with a 66-50 loss to Woodgrove in the Dulles District Tournament Semifinals. The Raiders had a 35-27 lead at halftime, but Woodgrove came out on fire to start the third quarter and quickly took the lead. The Wolverines had a lead until late in the third quarter, when senior Pierce Brenner hit two three pointers at the end of the quarter to make it all even at 46 heading into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Raiders, Woodgrove got hot and Loudoun County went cold, and the Wolverines outscored them 20-4 in the game's final frame.
Brenner ended his high school career with his best offensive game of the season as he scored 19 points (including 5 three-pointers) and helped keep the Raiders in the game. Cam Corbett also finished his high school career strong as he had 6 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Sophomore Matt Anderson and junior Joe Alexander finished their strong seasons with 9 points each.
The Raiders finish the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 11-12.
